Who is responsible
Alberto Giovanelli is the data controller for Slowlit. That means he decides how and why the personal data covered by this policy is used.
For any privacy question or request, email privacy@slowlit.it.
What we collect
When you join the interest list, we collect your name and email address. We also ask what you do, but that answer is optional. Tally records the time of your submission and your consent.
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any information you choose to include. This includes replies to Slowlit emails and privacy requests.
When you visit the website, our hosting service may process technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, requested page, request time, and browser or device information.
We do not currently run website analytics, so we do not receive measurements about how individual visitors use the site.
Why we use it
If you join the interest list, we use your details to email you about current and future Slowlit editions, as well as occasional Slowlit news and stories. We do this with your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
We process limited technical website data because we have a legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable, and useful website. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
If you contact us, we use your message and contact details based on our legitimate interest in replying to you. For a privacy request, we also keep the minimum record needed to handle it and demonstrate compliance with our legal obligations.
What you need to provide
Your name and email address are needed if you want to receive interest-list emails. You do not have to join the list, and "What do you do?" is optional.
Services that help us
Within Slowlit, only Alberto has direct access to interest-list responses and the Slowlit mailbox. We use these service providers to run the current setup:
Tally provides the interest form and stores its responses. Tally states that form data is encrypted and stored in Europe.
Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website, including the caching and security needed to keep it fast and protected.
Hostinger provides the Slowlit domain and email service used to send messages and answer privacy requests.
These providers may use their own subprocessors to deliver their services. We do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep your active interest-list record, mailing contact, and related Slowlit email correspondence for up to 24 months from the day you join, unless you renew your interest. If you withdraw your consent, we remove you sooner. We may keep a minimal record of a privacy request only for as long as reasonably needed to show that we handled it.
Tally may retain deleted submissions in its Trash or backups for up to 90 more days before permanent deletion. We keep technical website records only for as long as needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the site, following the relevant provider settings and obligations.
Where data is processed
Tally states that form responses are stored in Europe. Cloudflare, Hostinger, or their subprocessors may process other data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable.
Email privacy@slowlit.it if you would like information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
Cookies and analytics
The Slowlit website does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and it does not run website analytics, advertising pixels, or session replay. Our hosting provider may use strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from abuse. If we add privacy-focused analytics in the future, we will update this section before turning it on.
The Tally form opens on Tally's website, where Tally's own privacy and cookie information also applies.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive your personal data in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing that happened beforehand.
Email privacy@slowlit.it to make a request. To stop receiving messages, reply to any Slowlit email or write to that address. We normally respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our data practices or tools change. If a change materially affects how we use interest-list data, we'll explain it by email or ask for new consent where required. The effective date at the top shows the latest version.
You can return to the Slowlit homepage at any time.
